Notes: Alphabet Soup is an American thoroughbr ed racehorse that is best known for it’s stunning performanc e in the 1996 Breeders’ Class Classic; in this race he defeated both the great Cigar and Preakness Stakes winner, Louis Quatorze. He was a descendant of Nearco and his damsire was the US Racing Hall of Fame inductee – Arts and Letters. He was purchased privately by Georgia B Ridder, Alphabet Soup. After coming to California , he snatched winning titles in that year’s Breeders’ Cup Classic and posted win in the next four graded stakes: the San Antonio Handicap, the Pat O’Brien Handicap, the San Pasqual Handicap and in the Goodwood Breeders’ Cup Handicap. In 1997, at six, he went for stud service at Adena Springs in Midway, Kentucky.
