Notes: It was a dream-come -true performanc e for Da’Tara at the 140th Belmont Stakes. Da’Tara crossed the finishing line at the Belmont Park and created a history. When he entered into the race, he was granted as an underdog and the betting index shown a 38-1. Sired by Tiznow, DaTara is trained by Nick Zito — the jockey is Alan Garcia, one of the greatest performers in recent times. DaTara has an ordinary performanc e all through his racing career — while at two, in his first race, he was beaten by his stablemate , Anak Nakal, at the Belmont Park. This colt finished fourth in the Calder Maiden Stakes in December last year. In the Gulfstream Park, DaTara finally won a race and entered into the allowance race shortly thereafter to place third. In the Derby trial, DaTara ran well but finished fifth while in the Barbaro Stakes he finished second behind Roman Emperor. It was on June 7, 2008, DaTara ran swiftly under Alan Garcia and won the race by 5.5 lengths. DaTara finished the lap in relatively slower time of 2:29.65 on a dirt track rated fast. However, his surprising performanc e at the right moment has taken aback thousands of spectators across the country.
