Whereas his father, Jorge Jara is a trainer, he has uncles who were jockeys. One of his two sisters is a psychologist, the other being in college; while his brother is an architect. Notes: Fernando was by born a horse racing enthusiast. He used to play with small horses at his childhood days. Gradually, he learned the art of horse racing – he left public school and joined jockey school at the age of fourteen. Fernando earned his nickname – Ice Boy from his huge fans across his country and in the US horse racing circuit. He is fearless in heart and when he rides; his stunning pasture on top of the horse speaks of his courage.
