He travelled to England, Germany and France before settling down in USA in 1989. In the beginning he gained experience as an exercise rider and an assistant trainer. In 1996, he came on his own as a trainer. He trained the grade III Jersey Derby, Emergency Status in 2002. Allnightda nce, Bunker Hill and Call My Bluff have been trained under the expert hands of Derek Ryan. He spends his winters in Tampa Bay Downs. Musket Man clinched the top position on 11th April, 2009 winning $500,000 at the Grade II Illinois Derby. Currently, the 3 year old Kentucky bred colt is gearing up for the forthcomin g Kentucky Derby. |
