Notes: Black Tie Affair is a thoroughbr ed racehorse that was bred by American businessma n Stephen D. Peskoff and was out of the mare Hat Tab Girl and sired by Miswaki. He was brought to the United States where he stood as a yearling at Cynthia and Walter Reeseâs Timber Creek Farm in New Jersey. He was a graded stakes winner at two, three, four and five and snatched the title â United States Horse of the Year in 1991 along with the Breedersâ Cup Classic that year at Churchill downs. After a brilliant career performanc e, he retired in 1992 to Kentucky and was ultimately sent to Japan in 1997 for the duty at stud. At present, he is with OâSulli van Farms in West Virginia. Some of his high-class progeny include Evening Attire, Formal Gold and the multiple stakes winner filly, License Fee along with the Japanese winner â Washington Color.
