The La Prevoyante Handicap is an American thoroughbred horseracing meet that is raced at a distance of one and half miles on the turf track of Calder Race Course. This grade II race is open to fillies and mares with an age three and up. La Prevoyante Handicap is named after the Hall of Fame filly, which died at Calder after a race on December 28, 1974. The name of the race has been taken for the Hall of Fame filly La Prevoyante â it collapsed and died at Calder Race Course after a December 28, 1974 race. This horseracing event was started in 1976 and since itâs inception it has been run at various distances.
