Pants On Fire, a stakes winner in each of the last five years, has been retired from horse racing and will stand at stud next year for a fee of $5,000 at Glenn and Becky Brok’s Diamond B Farm in Mohrsville, Pa.

Pants On Fire raced six seasons, all for owners George and Lori Hall and trainer Kelly Breen. He won 11 of 35 starts and more than $1.6 million. Pants On Fire went out a winner when he scored a repeat victory in the $100,000 Wild N Wonderful Stakes at Charles Town on Sept. 19. “We were trying to get him back to the Breeders’ Cup Dirt Mile, but the timing was just not right, so we decided to retire him,” Breen said. “He’ll be missed. I always called him Old Reliable. He won stakes for us at 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7.”

Pants On Fire is a two-time Grade 2 winner. He won the Louisiana Derby in 2011 and went on to finish ninth in that year’s Kentucky Derby. His other Grade 2 win came in the 2013 Monmouth Cup. Pants On Fire was an extremely popular horse at Monmouth Park, where he made eight starts from 2010 to 2015 and won three stakes. “It was a big leap for me when he won the Louisiana Derby,” Breen recalled.

Glenn Brok likes that Pants On Fire is by Jump Start, who is 16 and stands at the Northview Stallion Station in Pennsylvania. “Jump Start is an extremely popular horse in Pennsylvania, and he stands for $10,000,” Brok said. “Pants On Fire is a big horse, resembles his father, and we’ll stand him for $5,000.”
