Grade 1 winner Havana will begin his stud career in The Philippines at Rancho Santa Rosa in Quezon City. The 4-year-old son of Dunkirk finished his on-track career with two wins in seven career starts, including a victory in the Grade 1 Champagne Stakes. He also finished second in the 2013 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile during a campaign in which he finished as an Eclipse Award finalist for champion 2-year-old male.

Todd Pletcher trained Havana for the Coolmore partnership of Michael Tabor, Susan Magnier, and Derrick Smith. Bred in Kentucky by Harvey A. Clarke Racing Stable, Havana is out of the winning Kyle’s Our Man mare Missy Turtle, whose five winners from seven foals to race also includes stakes-placed Among the Willows. He is from the family of Grade 2-placed stakes winner Egg Head and stakes winners Redding Ridge and Chief J Strongbow. Havana joins Grade 2-placed stakes winner Brigand and Australian-bred Warbird on the Rancho Santa Rosa stallion roster.
