He is single. His full name is Edward Thomas Baird, but he prefers using E. T. Baird to pay homage to his father, who was always listed as R. L. Baird. His brother Billy is working as a valet at the Chicago area racetracks.


Notes:
E. T. Baird grew up within a horse racing environment; his father is a late jockey – Bobby Baird, a five time Derby rider. His father earned four Purple Hearts and carried on riding until he was sixty-two years old and died in December 2005 at the age of eighty-five. E. T. Baird started his career in riding horses on November 25, 1985 at Hawthorne Race Course. As an apprentice, E. T. Baird was introduced into the Hawthorne Race Course Hall of Fame in 1988. He traveled to Hong Kong in December 2005 for taking part in the group 1 race with the turf-sprint specialist Nicole’s Dream. He rode for the first time in the Kentucky Derby in 2007 and finished fifth with Recapturetheglory. He has won eighty-nine races until the 2007 Arlington Meet to place him third in the final jockey standings.
