His lone loss in four starts was a 2 nd to soon-to-be -named juvenile Eclipse Award winner, Shanghai Bobby. From the first crop of outstandin g freshman sire Into Mischief and out of the Banker's Gold mare Golden Works, Goldencent s is owned by W. C. Racing, Dave Kenney and RAP Racing, the stable name of Louisville basketball coach Rick Pitino. Rosecrest Farm and Karyn Pirrello bred Goldencent s in Kentucky, where he was foaled on March 7, 2010. The colt was a $5,500 yearling at Fasig-Tipt on Kentucky's 2011 October yearling sale and resold at the Ocala Breeders' Sales Company's June auction for $62,000. O'Neill has yet to decide on the next Road to the Kentucky Derby prep or whether his colt will have one or two more races before a hoped Run for the Roses.
